HealthyOates Bisquick Mix

//HealthyOates Bisquick Mix

I am all about simplifying life but not sacrificing my health to do it. That’s why I love this recipe!  HealthyOates Homemade Bisquick Mix gives you the convenience of a box without all the extras (in this case, “extras” are not a good thing!)  Store bought Bisquick contains additives and preservatives and is made out of Enriched Flour (and sometimes “bleached white flour”).

That’s the great thing about this mix. YOU decide what ingredients go in and what flour you use!  And it’s convenient for us busy moms!!  Just whip it up one day, keep it in the fridge and any time you want fresh biscuits, pancakes, or cookies take a couple cups out, add some milk and bake it up. You can also use this mix for any recipe that calls for a bisquick/biscuit mix.  No need to go to the store when you have this stashed away in your freezer.

This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled depending on the amount  your family will go through.

What are you favorite uses for Bisquick Mix?

HealthyOates Bisquick Mix

  • 8 cups flour*
  • 4 ½ Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Stevia**
  • 2 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 ¾ cup butter or softened coconut oil (not melted)

Directions:

  1. Mix together flour, baking powder, stevia, tarter, and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
  3. Store in an airtight container up to 6 weeks or in keep in the freezer for longer storage.

Yield Approximately: 9 cups

*We use a mixture of gluten free or whole grain flours and Shaklee Instant Soy Protein Mix, a great flour substitute that gives you protein instead of carbs!!!

**We do not use white sugar at all in our house.  Rather we use Agave, honey, or Stevia. In this recipe the liquid sugars won’t work so we use 1 tsp Stevia.  If you do not have Stevia, the sugar equivalent would be 3 Tbsp. Sugar.
